(2) 2000 U.S. State Quarters & Maryland Related Stamps SKU# 271548C
This lot is sure to appeal to U.S. History enthusiasts, coin collectors and philatelists! In 1999, the U.S. mint embarked on a decade long program that honored each state on a quarter. Each state's quarter would have its name, year of entry and a distinctive design on the reverse of the quarter along with the year of minting. These quarters are mounted on a cardboard sheet which describes the quarters on the front and on the reverse is a quick history of the state. Also mounted on the reverse are stamps related to Maryland.
Features:
- Obverse: Inscription: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / QUARTER DOLLAR / LIBERTY / IN GOD WE TRUST
- Reverse: Inscription "MARYLAND / 1788 / THE OLD LINE STATE / 2000 / E PLURIBUS UNUM" Maryland's design shows the Maryland State House Dome surrounded by White Oak leaf clusters.
- Quarter from the Philadelphia Mint
- Quarter from the Denver Mint
- Stamp issued on May 23, 1949 commemorating the 300th anniversary of Annapolis, Maryland.
