- Obverse: reads "BANK OF CANADA - ONE DOLLAR - CANADA - THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER, OTTAWA 1973" and shows a left-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II
- Reverse: reads "ONE - BANK OF CANADA" and shows an image of a broken log boom on the Ottawa River below Parliament Hill
