Issued in 1973 by the Royal Canadian Mint, this fascinating silver one dollar coin commemorates 100 years of the founding of the North West Mounted Police in 1873 which later became the Royal Canadian Mounted Police which makes this coin a wonderful memento of Canada's rich history.

1973 Canadian RCMP Centennial $1 Dollar Coin:
- Composition: 50% silver, 50% copper
- Finish: Specimen

- Diameter: 36.07mm
- Obverse reads: "ELIZABETH II D.G. REGINA" and shows a right facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II
- Reverse reads: "CANADA DOLLAR 1873-1973" and shows an image of a Mountie atop a horse
- Coin comes inlaid in protective plastic frame and housed in a Royal Canadian Mint clamshell case
